KISS rocker Gene Simmons has come under fire for comments he made to female contestants on Dancing With The Stars.

The frontman of the 70s rock band joined judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and former Strictly Come Dancing legend Bruno Tonioli as a guest judge, but his stint didn’t go down well with fans.

Fans took aim at the fact that Simmons seemed to be commenting on several of the women’s looks, with some branding him ‘creepy’.

At one point, the 75-year-old told American football player Danny Amendola and pro dancer Witney Carson that he couldn’t decide which one was more ‘hot, hot, hot’.

He also called actor Reginald VelJohnson’s partner Emma Slater a ‘beautiful woman’, commenting she can ‘twist it and turn it and knows how to move it’.

After actress 24-year-old Chandler Kinney’s performance, Simmons said: ‘Chandler, you’ve fogged up my glasses. I don’t know what to tell you. You move me, not just with your gyrations and so on, but your beautiful face and how you were into the emotion of it top to bottom.’

Fans later took to X after hearing Simmons’ comments, with @pattyla16 writing: ‘Gene Simmons is seriously sucking all the energy out of the ballroom with his creepy comments about the female dancers.’

@Melodious87 wrote: ‘Don’t ever bring Gene Simmons back as a judge. That was awful and so uncomfortable. Creepy uncle vibes to all the women. That….Oof yeah. No.’

‘It should be a drinking game. Take a shot every time Gene Simmons says something creepy on,’ @darceymcl wrote, to which @cheryl71054149 said: ‘I agree. He gave me the creeps and seemed so very unqualified to judge.’

@_DaisydelRey_ also wrote: ‘Gene Simmons is making me uncomfortable af,’ while @kimberlyvanlan said: ‘lol the pattern of Gene Simmons hitting on the women and then telling the man “You’re ok”.’

‘having gene simmons on a guest judge was good on paper, but he is being such a creep,’ @kaeteas said.

Dancing With The Stars hit headlines earlier this season when it was revealed ex-convict Anna Delvey would be part of the line-up, with her ankle tag.

Tori Spelling and the Bachelorette’s Jenn Tran also hit the dancefloor alongside Julia Roberts’ brother, Eric Roberts, with the latter and Die Hard star Reginal facing the double elimination on Tuesday.

However, Delvey was the most eyebrow-raising contestant included, after she was jailed in 2019 after deceiving people out of huge amounts of money – apparently totalling $250,000 (£190k) – while pretending to be a German heiress.

‘I kind of got talked into doing this. I got the permission from ICE and then it was too late to back out,’ sheearlier said.

Metro.co.uk has approached Simmons’ reps for comment.

Dancing With The Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ in America.
