OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A police officer for Oklahoma City was transported to the hospital Sunday evening after a crash on the John Kilpatrick Turnpike just east of Broadway Extension.
According to Oklahoma City Police Department that officer was attempting to remove a couch from the roadway and had just put on his emergency lights when his vehicle was hit by a truck with a horse trailer.

The officer was in his vehicle at the time of impact after 9 p.m., and was transported to the hospital.
That officer is expected to be alright and OKCPD is actively investigating the crash.
The two outside eastbound lanes east of the Broadway Extension on the John Kilpatrick Turnpike were shut down for a short time but have since reopened.
